4th of july pie-eating contest

cal anderson park had 4th of july festivities. avery and gus decided to do the pie-eating contest. gus got scared and just stared at his pie. avery gave it a good effort. rachel was the winner - polishing off a lime-cream pie.

4th of july was rainy and cold. so tonight was sunny and gorgeous and we had burgers and ruby made cookies for dessert. much better than last night.

ruby's friend, miles, asked ruby to speak for him. she took it very seriously and wrote a beautiful speech about what a kind boy he is.
